Graham Potter could have a problem with two signings that Todd Boehly completed specifically for Thomas Tuchel. That's according to Paul Merson, who has cast doubt as to whether the newly-appointed Chelsea boss 'rates' Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly.
The duo, who cost the Blues in the region of £103million in the summer, were omitted from the starting-eleven in the west Londoners' Champions League clash with RB Salzburg at Stamford Bridge. The fixture was Potter's first outing as Blues head coach after leaving Brighton and Hove Albion and penning a five-year deal.
Instead, the 47-year-old opted for back-three of Cesar Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella. Ironically enough, Fofana was brought in as a replacement for the Spaniard and the latter was signed as a competitor to Ben Chilwell at left wing-back despite a rich history at left centre-back.
