Graham Potter could seal an immediate return to Premier League management with Leicester City following his Chelsea sacking.
The former Brighton boss saw his stint at Stamford Bridge ended in brutal circumstances on Sunday evening after failing to inspire an upturn in fortunes in West London. His exit comes just over six months after he was appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement by Todd Boehly.
He had initially put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Blues but is now on the hunt for a new job after being dismissed by the Blues with them down in 11th position in the Premier League. And he could be given just that by Leicester, with the Foxes also looking for their own new boss after announcing the departure of Brendan Rodgers on Sunday.
The relegation-threatened side confirmed that the Northern Irishman had departed by “mutual consent”.
Potter is highly admired by the Leicester hierarchy having been left impressed by his work with Brighton before his big-money move to Chelsea.
As initially reported by MailOnline, Leicester would be interested to know the 47-year-old’s immediate plans for the future and whether he is tempted to jump straight back into management.

Personally, Potter has been at the heart of a chaotic, whirlwind season, having led Brighton to an impressive opening to the campaign before his switch to Stamford Bridge.
He oversaw 31 matches as Blues boss, winning just 12. Potter’s highlight as Chelsea manager was arguably the Champions League success over German giants Borussia Dortmund that secured their place in quarter-finals of the competition.
And while his coaching was privately hailed by a number of players, he has had to deal with an inflated squad - the antithesis of what he worked with at Brighton - following January's £300million-plus splurge by co-owner Todd Boehly.
Whilst Leicester might be tempted in appointing Potter as Rodgers’ replacement at the King Power Stadium, the search is now on for Chelsea’s next boss. Former Bayern Munich man Julian Nagelsmann has invariably been linked with the post, whilst Mirror Sport exclusively revealed that Fulham schemer Marco Silva is a surprise contender for the job.
In the meantime, one of Potter’s coaches Bruno Saltor is set to take interim charge, starting with Tuesday evening’s game against Liverpool.
A statement from Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali read: “Along with our incredible fans, we will all be getting behind Bruno and the team as we focus on the rest of the season. We have 10 Premier League games remaining and a Champions League quarter final ahead.
"We will put every effort and commitment into every one of those games so that we can end the season on a high.”
Following their clash with Liverpool, the Blues are next back in action at the weekend as they travel to the Midlands to take on relegation-threatened Wolves.
