Chelsea boss Graham Potter has claimed that there may be an update on the injury sustained by star defender Reece James in the next day or two as he is assessed by the medical team. It comes after concerns for the England international, who had to come off midway through the second half against AC Milan on Tuesday night.
It marks another game under the new boss that was largely positive apart from an injury scare during the clash. The Blues dominated the game as former academy graduate Fikayo Tomori saw red for his challenge on Mason Mount in the box, with Jorginho scoring from the penalty spot.
A slick move shortly after was then finished off by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to double the lead before half-time, with the game in Chelsea's control. While there was the threat of being pulled into a scruffy game, the Blues held their nerve and a huge win has seen them jump from bottom of their group to top in a matter of games.

"Overall, we played well," Potter said in reflection of the victory. "It was important to get the goal and the penalty and red card changes the completion of the game. We started to make the 10 men count, which I think we did quite well. Overall, we’re delighted with the three points, the clean sheet, and to score two goals too."
There will now be an anxious wait over the status of James' injury though as the defender took a blow to his knee midway through the second half. While he tried to continue through it, he went down yet again just a few moments later, eventually being substituted.
The extent of the issue is currently unknown, with the Chelsea boss claiming it's too early to know: "Reece, we’re hoping he’ll be ok. [We’ll need] 24-48 hours because it’s too early to tell you anything more than that."
