Graham Norton jokes Holly and Phil 'live like animals' after 'foolish' Queuegate comment

Graham Norton referred to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as "animals" during his appearance on Wednesday's This Morning.

The 59-year-old joined the presenters in the ITV studio to promote his new book, but the conversation soon turned to the new series of his BBC chat show.

At one point, 60-year-old Phillip asked Graham: "What's been the most outrageous set of demands that any of these massive people have asked of production?"

Graham replied: "I've talked about this before, someone who shall remain nameless, and it wasn't in this building, it was in the old building, they wanted nine dressing rooms.

"This was a person and they wanted nine dressing rooms, so we got them nine dressing rooms, that's fine."

Graham continued: "And then in the afternoon somebody come running into the production office going, '911 situation, we need another dressing room!'

"So Catherine our producer picks up the phone and she goes, 'out of interest why do you need a tenth dressing room?' and they went, 'oh they're charging their phone'."

"What?!" mother-of-three Holly shrieked as Graham joked: "We live like animals!"

Phillip burst out laughing and said: "Wow!" as Holly admitted: "I really wanna know who that is!"

Graham's quip comes after he branded Holly and Phillip "foolish" for not thinking people would get annoyed over their visit to Westminster Hall to see the Queen lying in state.

Speaking about 'Queuegate' on Radio 5 Live on Monday, Graham said: "I suppose what Phil and Holly got wrong was they thought people wouldn’t care.

"I guess that that’s their crime. The actual queue jumping? They did nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing wrong. But foolish of them to not think that people would be annoyed."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
