Graeme Souness has described his on-air spat with Gary Neville as the most enjoyable television he worked on after Liverpool humiliated Manchester United 7-0.
The iconic Reds midfielder was in the studio alongside Jamie Carragher and the former United pairing of Roy Keane and Neville. Prior to the rout, Souness predicted that Jurgen Klopp's side would come out on top against their rivals at Anfield.
His response brought wry smiles from the Red Devils contingent on the panel as they poked fun at the Scot for his views ahead of the clash. Erik ten Hag's side visited Merseyside in fine form and were looking to complete a league double over Liverpool during a period of crisis in L4.

Two goals apiece from Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez fired the Reds on their way as Roberto Firmino rounded off the scoring to complete a damaging day in United's history. Following the match, Souness and Neville were involved in a heated debate following the win.
Speaking on Up Front with Simon Jordan, the 69-year-old detailed the mood behind-the-scenes from a United point of view with Neville and Keane in attendance. Following his pre-match prediction, which was scrutinised, he had the last laugh.
"I think Roy [Keane] was boiling inside but took it gracefully, he knew his team were miserable and Gary [Neville] chose to see it that Man United weren't that bad and Liverpool weren't that good," said Souness.
"We turned up before the game, before we went on air there was a bit of banter between us... I was asked a question off-air 'what do you think the result will be?' and I said 'I don't know why I think this, but Liverpool will have a really good day and I think they will win and win well'.
"Half-an-hour later, we're on air and Gary said to me 'are you going to repeat what you said off-air?'. I said yeah, we'll win and win well so Liverpool do that.
"After the game, we're up in the studio there's the four of us Carra [Jamie Carragher], Gary, Roy and during the break, Gary said Liverpool weren't very good today. I was willing to repeat what I said on the air, are you willing to do the same and he was reluctant to do it.
"I have to say I enjoyed that bit of television as much as any television I worked on for the last 20 years. My team beat their biggest rivals 7-0, it was a great day for me all round."
