While the 2023 NBA Draft hasn’t started yet, we might already have our winner for best-dressed athlete in the books.
Former Kansas guard Gradey Dick will most likely be one of the college basketball prospects to hear his name called on Thursday night. He’s already sporting his very best tribute to one of Kansas’ cultural touchstones.
Dick decked out in a shiny ruby suit, which clearly pays homage to Dorothy’s magic slippers in the classic film The Wizard of Oz.
As you’ll remember, Dorothy started out her journey in the film on a Kansas farm before a twister swept her away to Oz. She gets home by clicking together her ruby slippers.
Well, Dick borrowed a page form Dorothy’s book for his NBA Draft fit.

Dick must be a fan of the film and respect what it means to the state, so the suit is a nice nod to one of the most famous movies of all time.
Also, it’s an absolutely eye-popping look that’s sure to steal the red carpet later. Nobody is going to, quite literally, outshine Dick’s very sparkly suit as the former Jayhawks star represents his college state.
After all, there’s no place like home.
