GP's plea after 'unprecedented levels of sickness in community'

A GP surgery has warned patients of "unprecedented levels of sickness" in a sinister text.

The Ash Surgery on Ashfield Road in Aigburth sent a text to all patients on Tuesday, December 13, just before 5.20pm warning people not to get in touch with them unless they were "acutely ill or have an urgent problem". The message comes as the surgery is seeing "unprecedented levels of sickness in the community" and staff at the surgery are also falling ill.

The text, which also appears on the GP's website said: "Currently there is unprecedented levels of sickness in the community. Doctors and staff at The Ash Surgery are also affected by illness.
