Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday said the Centre was forced to accept the demands of students protesting over the NEET paper leak issue, claiming the government "bowed down" after widespread agitation. He also criticised the police action against protesters and accused the government of undermining students' rights.
Speaking during the Lok Sabha debate on the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, Yadav referred to the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as education minister and said the government had yielded to public pressure.
