Govt school for poor students to be revamped: Delhi minister Rajendra Gautam

NEW DELHI: Delhi has decided to revamp a school that was started for the economically weaker students belonging to scheduled caste, backward class and minority communities in 2013. Social welfare minister Rajendra Gautam made the announcement on Saturday.

He said in a statement that when the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Delhi Government Senior Secondary Residential School was established, it had three classrooms for the economically weaker students belonging to scheduled caste, backward class and minority communities. “Today, there are more than 900 students in the schools. The school has an infrastructure consisting of all the facilities and the students are provided with free-of-cost boarding facilities, suvidha vardi, emergency clothes, books and daily-use supplies,” he said after inspecting the school.
