Govt ill-treated Governor when her mother died: Revanth

Telangana Congress president, A. Revanth Reddy has alleged that the state government had ill-treated the Governor by not providing air service facilities to shift the body of the Governor’s mother who passed away here months ago.

“It should have been done on humanitarian grounds at least if the TRS government had differences with the Governor. This is not how a government should respond in such a situation,” he said at a press conference here.

Mr. Reddy also claimed that the differences between the Governor and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao were deliberately escalated now as the CM wants to use this situation to dilute some family feud over change of leadership in the State.

He claimed that there was tremendous pressure on CM to elevate IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao as Chief Minister and to escape from the pressure he was using all the tactics to keep the attention on other issues. Paddy procurement issue too was being played out to keep the emotions high by both the parties while ignoring the steps to be taken for procurement now as the produce was getting into the market., he claimed.

He said both the BJP and TRS were together also reflected in the way the Union Minister, G. Kishan Reddy and BJP state president, Bandi Sanjay also stayed away from the Ugadi celebrations at Raj Bhavan. “Why were they absent despite being in the city, he asked adding that both of them feared that the CM would get annoyed,” he said. The Governor should also have raised this issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Arrest sought

The TPCC Campaign Committee Chairman, Madhu Yaskhi Goud demanded the state government arrest the Assam Chief Minister, Hemanth Biswa Sarma when he enters Telangana to participate in Bandi Sanjay’s padayatra.

If the TRS government was sincere in its zero-tolerance policy on insulting women Mr. Sarma should be arrested as there was an FIR registered against him. A case was filed against Mr. Sarma by the Congress leaders at several police stations for his unsavoury remarks on Sonia Gandhi while criticising Rahul Gandhi.
