Governor writes to Karnataka CM, wants Vande Mataram truncation order reconsidered

Vande Mataram Thaawarchand Gehlot Karnataka Central the Ministry of Home Affairs

Bengaluru: Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has written to Chief Minister D K Shivakumar seeking reconsideration of the state government's decision to limit Vande Mataram to two stanzas at official events.

The Congress government had recently ordered that only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram be sung at its programmes, except those attended by the president, vice-president, prime minister or governor.
