Government pledges help with electricity bills for high energy business users

The Government is promising support with electricity costs for high energy usage businesses, including manufacturers of steel and batteries for electric vehicles.

Ministers said an Energy Intensive Industries Compensation Scheme will be extended for a further three years and its budget will be more than doubled.

And for the first time, businesses that make batteries for electric vehicles are eligible for the scheme.
