Government faces pressure to widen virus inquiry scope

The government is facing increasing pressure to widen the scope of a COVID-19 inquiry to include actions taken by state and territory governments and the impact of school closures on children.

The inquiry announced on Thursday excludes an investigation of any "unilateral" state and territory decisions.
