The government's legal advisers have asked the High Court to "urgently consider" the United Nation's bid to stop Archie Battersbee's life support being ended.
The 12-year-old boy, who is in a comatose state after suffering brain damage, was set to have his treatment ended tomorrow following a lengthy court battle in the UK between his family and Barts Health NHS Trust, which runs Royal London Hospital.
But the Government Legal Department said it had received a request from the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on Friday, asking for time for it to consider Archie's case following an application from the family.
