Glasgow south side residents could be fined and have their cars uplifted as cleaning work get underway.
Glasgow City Council (GCC) teams will be clearing drains, tackling fly-tipping, removing weeds, and uplifting litter 'soon' in Govan. To carry out the work 'the streets need to be clear' so parking restrictions will be in place.
Also known as a Temporary Traffic Restriction Order (TTRO), the legislation allows cleaning staff l to add and/or change a restriction on a road on a temporary basis to allow work to be completed. If those affected don’t move their vehicles in line with the temporary restrictions, they will be uplifted and moved to another location, which could result in a penalty charge notice.

GCC released a warning video and statement on Wednesday. The roads that fall under the affected area were not disclosed nor the date that cleaning works will start.
The statement read: "We’ll soon be in the area to do vital environmental cleaning as part of our ‘Weeks of Action’ but in order to do the work, we need you to move your vehicle from the roadside. Our squads will clear drains, tackle fly-tipping, remove weeds and uplift litter, but for us to do our best, we need the streets to be clear of vehicles. This means no parking your vehicle during the work and there will be temporary parking restrictions (TTRO) in your street and surrounding area
"A Temporary Traffic Restriction Order (TTRO) allows The Council to add and, or change a restriction on a road on a temporary basis to allow work to be completed, where required. In this instance, we need to use a TTRO to allow the teams access to carry out this essential work. This means parking restrictions and road closures to allow for gully cleaning and street sweeping.

"If you don’t move your vehicle in line with the temporary restrictions, it will be uplifted and moved to another location, and could result in a penalty charge notice The TTRO will be in place for the duration of the work – this means no parking at any time.
"There will be clear street signage and yellow cones where parking restrictions apply. You can still drive by and drop off or pick up. So to get the best results for your street, we need you to move your vehicle and comply with the TTRO. We appreciate your help and thank you for helping us clean Glasgow.
