HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Friday gave the chief secretary an ultimatum of six weeks to file a counter or appear in court on the next hearing in a 2015 PIL challenging the state’s order regularising encroachment of public land for a fee. The state has been dodging filing its counter for the past seven years.
A bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili gave the order while resuming its hearing in the PIL filed by senior lecturer Anwar Khan of Hyderabad who questioned the regularisation scheme under government order (GO) MS No 59 issued in December 2014.
