Gorka Marquez channels Ryan Gosling’s Ken as Strictly teases Barbie inspired routine

The Strictly Come Dancing dancefloor is set to be transformed in Barbieland for this weekend’s Movie Week theme.

Teasing what’s to come in a video shared to the official Strictly Instagram account, fans were forced to do a double-take as Spanish professional dancer Gorka Marquez looks a deadringer for Ryan Gosling’s Ken.

He can be seen lipsyncing (badly) with the other male professional dancers dressed as other Ken characters to Gosling’s big music number I’m Just Ken from the Greta Gerwig directed movie, complete with fur coat, headband and, of course, custom Ken pants.

Taking to the comments section, Marquez held his hands up, writing: “When you don’t know the lyrics”.

“All of us pretending to know the lyrics,” laughed Vito Coppola.

They also joked about the “missed opportunity” of not having red-haired Neil Jones as Ken’s best friend Allan.

Movie Week has become a firm favourite with viewers of the BBC dance competition.

This year’s instalment will see Angela Rippon become Julie Andrews with a Quickstep to a number from The Sound Of Music, while Krishnan Guru-Murthy will be paying homage to Cabaret.

Meanwhile, the rest of the cast will be performing routines inspired by films as varied as Grease, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Batman, Men In Back and… The Super Mario Bros Movie.
