Gordon Ramsay has rushed to the defence of family friend Brooklyn Beckham after the budding chef came under fire for his undercooked beef.
Michelin-starred chef Gordon, who is currently promoting his new show Next Level Chef, defended Brooklyn, 23, after he faced backlash for a recent cooking video. Last week, Brooklyn took to his Instagram to share a video with celebrity chef Kevin Lee preparing a prime rib with a large amount of seasoned butter.
But he faced widespread backlash for covering the £300 piece of meat in too much butter, with some claiming the finished product was 'raw'. But Gordon didn't understand the criticism against the aspiring chef, and spoke out in defence of Brooklyn.
Gordon, 56, is a close family friend of David, 47, and Victoria Beckham, 48, and his five children - Megan, 23, twins Jack and Holly, 22, Tilly, 21, and Oscar, 3 - have grown up alongside Brooklyn, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 17, and Harper, 11.
Speaking to MailOnline, he said: "Brooklyn has grown up with my kids and is the son of dear friends of ours. I haven't seen the video of his supposedly 'raw' beef.
"But even as a 12-year-old, whilst playing football, Brooklyn was always excited about food. So I'm pleased that he's gone down that road and he's found something he really enjoys doing."
He added: "It's hard, isn't it? Because he didn't ask for that level of intrusion from having famous parents. It probably came off a certain way, but it's not his fault. So I have no issues against it. I'm excited. We have another chef joining the mix."
After Brooklyn shared his latest cooking creation, fans slammed the chef for his culinary skills. "A good vet could bring that back to life," one user said while another added: "That’s just a reckless amount of butter for that much meat."
One concerned follower wrote: "Might as well bite the cow while it’s grazing." Another said: "That’s a heart attack on a plate,"
Victoria also rushed to his defence on social media not long after her eldest child's Instagram blew up with backlash over the beef, she shared the video to her own Instagram Stories. The former Spice Girls star explained that meat was "rare not raw" in defence of her son's cooking style.
