Google Pixel 6 Pro Review: A trip to Cornwall's St Michael's Mount testing the new Magic Eraser feature

It's not every day that you get to work with a brand like Google and test out some of their mobile phones magical new features.

The Google Pixel 6 Pro is a masterpiece design, with a techy but sleek cover and features to make you feel like a top, travel influencer at the tap of a button. While the nifty Magic Eraser option is the highlight of owning such a phone, you have to have the perfect backdrop and setting to really see it's potential.

With it's "most advanced pixel camera ever", it has taken our breath away with the detail of some of our quite regular holiday shots.

While I got to experience an incredible two days in Cornwall's idyllic St Ives, finding beautiful things to take pictures of was no issue.

Now, with the Google editing tools the magic eraser is obviously not unheard of, with other editing apps being widely available on IOS and Androids with similar features BUT it's certainly a perk with it being an in built feature on the phone's photo album.

We got a little excited when arriving in Cornwall and got straight to editing when we got to our hotel.

We were gifted our stay at the stunning Carbis Bay Hotel which hosted the G7 Summit last year, and I have heard ever since it has been a hotspot for tourists wanting to see the incredible coast for themselves.

One of the lovely staff at the Carbis Bay Hotel poolside bar managed to capture us perfectly at the infinity pool on the seafront, and we edited and touched it up to get the best of the shot.

As you can see we edited the kids water toy out of the shot poolside and we opted to brighten up the sky.

This edit was quick and easy, as there were no people to erase walking into the picture or anything else really being in the frame.

Some of the other images we took on the other hand we captured numerous people and objects into the shots so we could have a real play with the phone.

The only problem we found, like with any editing tools, is what is left behind.

While editing people out is great, you still get the odd items, limbs etc which you need to highlight a couple of times before they completely disappear off of your final version.

Me and my son took our new Google Pixel 6 Pro to the St Michael's Mount tourist attraction while on our UK vacation- and what a great day out it was. We managed to take in all the breathtaking views it had to offer, while managing some real, memorable moments.

The odd photobomber and unwanted objects were not a problem with mine and Tyler's new found editing skills we had developed since setting up our (very boujee) new toy.

Thankfully we had the experience while in peak summer season, ideal for deleting/editing to our hearts content the huge flocks of tourists visiting the beautiful island. Can you imagine Tylers face heading over to a tourist attraction by boat with it being on it's own private island? Yes, he was over the moon.

St Michael's Mount is situated just a quick boats ride from Marazion Beach- where there is also plenty to do with restaurants, shops and cafes all a stones throw away.

At St Michaels Mount, we found that because it was so busy, it was generally harder to edit out people holding things or how they were positioned awkwardly in the shot. The "remove people from background" pops up and does all the hard work for you initially which is great, then you can still go ahead and delete anything else unwanted from your capture.

Here's an example of what I believe, is a great edit considering the amount of people close by.

St Micheals Mount is a great family day out- there is plenty of history to encounter, playing fields where families were enjoying games of rounders, picnicking and sunbathing, quaint shops for a browse and quite a strenuous walk up to the top of the mount (which we still thoroughly enjoyed). There is even a little quiz for children to complete of all the facts about the property once inside- we had to look for clues of where stickers would go in our factbook, and Tyler absolutely loved it.

From locks of hair clues in keepsakes to family portraits in the most luxurious of decored rooms, it was a welcomed activity to what could have felt quite a long day for children.

Tyler expressed so much enthusiasm for editing our photos of the day- so much so we lay on our hotel room beds that night and got to it- while devouring a huge, well deserved room service meal.

The following day we again, spent it at the outdoor pool which was just incredible- the views were astounding across the glistening sea, but the majority of the time I was dealing with my 9 year old wanting to play splashing in the water and clinging to me like a baby koala- but that's what holidays are for right? Our quality time was captured throughout our stay so beautifully with the Google Pixel 6 Pro- we've been on such a memorable adventure together.

Take a look at the Google offers here on their website.

For the handset prices are from £849 or £35.38/month for 24 months.

Also, the likes of Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse have some great tariffs to check out also.
