Police in Spain have made a significant breakthrough in a missing persons case after a Google Maps vehicle captured a crucial image that led to the arrest of two individuals. The incident unfolded in the small village of Tajueco in the province of Soria, Castile and León region in northern Spain.

According to police reports, a man was reported missing in November last year after his relative received suspicious messages from his phone. The messages indicated that the man had met a new partner, planned to move to a different part of the country, and was getting rid of his phone abruptly.

Authorities launched an investigation and stumbled upon a Google Maps image taken in October, showing a person loading a large object wrapped in a light-colored cloth into the trunk of a red car. This image, still visible on Google Maps, raised suspicions of foul play.

Police arrested former girlfriend and another man in connection with disappearance.

On November 12, police arrested a former girlfriend of the missing man and another man who had a previous relationship with the woman. Both individuals were implicated in the man's disappearance and death. Additionally, a badly decomposed torso, potentially belonging to the victim, was recovered from a cemetery in a nearby village on December 11.

This case highlights the role of technology in aiding law enforcement investigations. The use of Google Maps imagery proved instrumental in advancing the case and ultimately leading to the arrests of the suspects. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough police work and the potential of modern tools in solving complex criminal cases.
