Google Chrome users have been issued a second warning to update the browser following a release of a vicious bug into the system.
Earlier this week, the tech giant announced it had discovered a software flaw that increases the risk of cyber attacks with a serious zero-day rating. The term 'zero-day' means that the developer has only just learned of a flaw that is already known and being actively used by cyber crooks to access important personal information.
Now, a second glitch has been found and users of the browser need to check that they have the most up to date version to stay safe online. Google had previously rushed to release a fix for the first flaw and has since issued a second update that's repairing the new error.
The latest release of Chrome, called 112.0.5615.137/138, actually repairs a total of eight glitches, reports the Mirror. Computer users need to ensure they have this up to date version and It takes seconds to update the software.
In its release notes, Google said: "The Stable and extended stable channel has been updated to 112.0.5615.137/138 for Windows and 112.0.5615.137 for Mac and 112.0.5615.165 for Linux which will roll out over the coming days/weeks..
"Google is aware that an exploit for CVE-2023-2136 exists in the wild. We would like to thank all security researchers that worked with us during the development cycle to prevent security bugs from ever reaching the stable channel."
You might have already updated Chrome once this week, but it's now time to do it again. Users can check their current version of Chrome by simply launching the browser, then clicking Chrome from the menu bar and tapping About Chrome - here you'll see what is installed and if any upgrades are available.
If it's showing something older than 112.0.5615.137 then you should update things as soon as possible.
