Good Morning Britain viewers were left divided at a controversial segment on the morning television programme on Tuesday.
ITV presenters Richard Madeley and Ranvir Singh were discussing the possibility of making avoiding housework a legal crime, as a survey has revealed at almost 50 per cent of the population of France would back this proposal.
Ranvir made the point that: "A large number of people have said that avoiding the housework has caused arguments that have led to splitting up relationships."

Fellow host Richard Madeley was devil's advocate, and personally thought the whole thing was "one huge joke, as how can you see a wife or husband in the dock for not doing the dishes?"
This segment has left viewers on social media arguing between themselves, as one Twitter user said: "Just watching #GMB reminded me I hadn’t emptied the dishwasher.
"I don’t want the police smashing in my front door, especially when there are all those other important crimes that they can’t deal with due to huge cut backs to the front line!"
Another said: "#gmb Should avoiding housework be a crime? what is the world coming too?"
And a third said: "I think this woman needs a hobby get a life ficken housework !!!! Just kick him out if it bothers you so much! We normal people have more to think about. #GMB"
Another Twitter user disagreed, saying: "Agree with Aggie, just ask Richard if he does anything around the house, with his facial expression said it all. #gmb"
A second said: "Don’t think Richard Madeley should be discussing Feminism because he cannot be impartial. #gmb"
Further comments read: "Tyre was flat on the car and the wife couldn't change it. She's currently under arrest in the garden. #gmb", and "Seriously are they arguing over house work??? There are more serious things to worry over… GET a GRIP #gmb"
