Good Morning Britain regular panellist Iain Dale was taken to hospital last week after an accident on the London Underground.
The LBC presenter and broadcaster was taken to St Thomas's by ambulance after the incident, which took place at Charing Cross station.
Iain told his followers on Twitter he required an operation after the incident which left him with a broken hip.
Iain tweeted: "Some news. This afternoon I tripped at the top of an escalator at Charing X Tube. I was taken by ambulance to St Thomas’s. I have a badly broken hip. Replacement op scheduled for Monday. Superb care from all here. In the immortal words of Britney Spears: Oops I Did It Again!"
He later added: "Big shout out to the all female ambulance crew led by Nicole and Poppy who tended to me and got me out of the station. And to Reda, Maverick and the lovely London Underground staff at Charing Cross. So impressive and caring."
Iain shared a series of pictures from his bedside as his friends popped in to say hello including fellow Good Morning Britain panellist Jacqui Smith.
The former Labour MP shared a selfie with the broadcaster and wrote: "He’s alive, he’s cheerful, he’s been standing up on his new hip. He’s v impressed by @GSTTnhs (but not the food). We talked about a few intimate details but no bed bath was administered! Please keep emailing/messaging as he’ll be unbearable if he gets bored. Love you @IainDale."
After the operation, Iain told his followers his "pain [had] disappeared" and he felt "overwhelmed" by kind messages from "friends and strangers".
On Monday, the LBC presenter shared a further update where he admitted he shouldn't get "carried away".
"After the highs and euphoria of yesterday, I can’t pretend that today is working out the same way. Just shows I have to take one day at a time and not get carried away," he remarked.
Fans of the broadcaster shared messages of support as one tweeted: "Get well soon and don't do it again!"
Another wrote: "Get well soon Iain, missing your dulcet tones & wishing you a Full Speedy Recovery," while a third said: "Looking forward to seeing you back on your feet and up in the saddle @IainDale get well soon!"
