Denise Welch was supported on Good Morning Britain as she opened up about her depression.
Wednesday's edition of the ITV news programme was hosted by Susanna Reid and Martin Lewis. The Loose Women panelist was interviewed at the end of show to mark Mental Health Awareness Week as she discussed the poignant meaning behind the 1975 song, She Lays Down.
Denise's son, Matty Healy, is the frontman of the band and the song is about her battle with post natal depression. Denise was emotional as she shared the story behind some of the lyrics in the song.

She revealed how the symptoms came on her suddenly as she displayed no signs she would suffer with the condition when she was pregnant. She said: "I had a panic attack. I hadn't been an anxious mother. I woke up after very little sleep and the whole lactation process had stopped.
"I had gone from full breastfeeding breasts to nothing. Nowadays, 30 - 40 years later, that would have been a huge hormonal red flag. "At the time I was told in no uncertain terms that only normally happens if a spouse, parents, or baby dies.
"That's what the midwife said to me. Within a day of that, I was living in an area of Crouch End that I'd lived for years. I'd started getting this increasing feeling of unreality and within 24 hours of that my mum found me crawling out of the flat. I'd lost all sense of reality.
"It was the most terrifying thing." Susanna and Martin commended Denise for being so open.
Viewers following the show on Twitter also shared messages of support.
Kate said: "Well done Denise for speaking out"
Verity posted: "Love listening to Denise. She explains mental health perfectly."
