Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid student life at University of Bristol and her favourite drinking haunts

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has shed some light on her wild days as a student at university in Bristol. The 51-year-old grew up in London and attended school there before heading to the West Country after completing her A-Levels in the late 1980s.

Although she may mostly be known for delivering important news and fronting hard-hitting documentaries, such as last night's British Grandma on Death Row, Susanna did not study journalism at the University of Bristol. Instead, she studied Politics and Philosophy, whilst editing the student newspaper; her studies in Journalism came after she had graduated, and left Bristol for Cardiff.

During this morning's episode of Good Morning Britain (March 23), Andi Peters was reporting live from Bristol, against the breathtaking backdrop of Clifton Suspension Bridge. At the end of his segment, Susanna reminisced on her time at university, revealing the one Bristol establishment she used to frequent as a student.

Susanna exclaimed: "I was at uni there and I think you might be just in front of the Avon Gorge Hotel!"

Andi then told Susanna the hotel had been renamed. He said: "It's the Hotel du Vin - they'll love me for that, two free nights please, madam! - Avon Gorge Hotel. Same place though."

"That's where we all used to go for a drink after we graduated," Susanna revealed, "Andi, thanks for bringing back lovely, lovely memories. Thank you very much indeed."

After Andi's segment ended, Susanna's co-presenter Adil Ray pressed her for more detail. He said: "What kind of drinks were they when you were in your student days? Were you sort of wild?"

Much to the disgust of Adil, Susanna replied, laughing: "Do you remember Diamond White?"

Back in 2013, when Susanna was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, rumours started circulating about her university life following a story in The Sun.

Now, it is believed that Susanna lives in Balham in South London, with her three sons, Sam, Jack and Finn. The 51-year-old remains private about her personal relationships, and has previously said she does not want to get married.
