Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid rages 'don't call me darling' in 'chaotic' interview

Susanna Reid this morning hit back at a Good Morning Britain guest after she was called 'darling' in an uncomfortable interview. Insulate Britain spokesperson Tracey Mallaghan today appeared on the ITV breakfast show, to debate the acceptability of protesting at a wedding.

It comes after Just Stop Oil protesters crashed George Osborne's wedding over the weekend in Somerset, in which, a lone ecowarrior ran up to the ex-Chancellor and his wife - dowsing the newlyweds in orange confetti. She was left grinning before eventually being ushered away.

And while Tracey defended the protestors and their ongoing actions live on air, the activist found herself embroiled in a tense debate with hosts Susanna and Ed Balls. At one point, she called Susanna 'darling' leading the ITV host to hit back: "You don't need to call me darling."

The Star reports that viewers were left rushing to social media to discuss the 'chaotic' interview, with one branding it a complete 'car crash'. They wrote: "Car crash on GMB right now," while another, added: "This GMB woman is car crash TV."

A third, fumed: "How dare she call @susannareid100 darling uurrrgghhh @GMB she doesn’t even know her argument! Cannot substantiate her claims so resorts to patronising passive aggression #GeorgeOsborne #gmb," while a fourth, vented: "Having people like this on just turns people off - it just sets the cause back. #GMB."

Meanwhile, a fifth, added: "The worst, most chaotic car-crash interview just happened on #GMB and everyone involved should be ashamed. There was inaccuracies, incoherence, bullying, bias and it was a shambles."

It comes after Tracey was caught raging at GMB host Richard Madeley off-air back in October 2021. At the end of their debate, Richard let off a big sigh, as he sarcastically said: "Tracey, thank you very much for coming in but not answering a single question."

He then turned to viewers, adding: "You're watching Good Morning Britain on ITV," before the ITV theme tune played out. But as the camera panned to go to an advert break, Richard was seen shaking his head and muttering something to Tracey - microphone muted.

The move left Tracey clearly unhappy, as she responded by leaning forward and jabbing a finger towards the host. The moment wasn't missed by eagle-eyed viewers either, with one sharing the clip and writing: "Can we press red to watch her leave the #GMB studio?"
