Kate Garraway has made a sad admission about the "struggle" her husband Derek Draper still faces three years after contracting coronavirus.
At the beginning of the pandemic, back in 2020, the former political aide was rushed to hospital after struggling with symptoms of the virus. He was then placed in a medically induced coma after taking a turn for the worse.
Derek, 55, was in hospital for more than a year, with Kate and the couple's children Billy and Darcy unable to see him for months on end due to lockdown restrictions.

When he was finally allowed to return home to be with his family in spring 2021, millions of viewers were given a candid insight into just how things had been for him and his loved ones in ITV documentary Finding Derek. Good Morning Britain host Kate later had the whole of the O2 Arena on their feet as it won at the National Television Awards in 2021.
Kate has shared her experiences with her many fans throughout, and while she is delighted to have Derek back at home with her, he still faces a long road to recovery, Chronicle Live reports.
On Monday, Kate, 55, spoke out again about how Derek is doing after a fan reached out to her on Twitter. The woman said: "I just watched Finding Derek on ITV X. It is a very powerful story and makes us realise how important family is and how health can change lives Well done to you and your kids for staying strong."
In her reply, Kate indicated that Derek is still struggling, as she said: "Thank you so much that means a lot and sending love this morning to all those still struggling with life changing ill health as Derek still is and all those that fight on and care for them."
Another one of her followers then commented: "Kate it most be such a worry trying to do GMB and your radio show with Derek always on your mind hoping he will soon be improving for you and your family".
