Good Morning Britain's Judge Rinder breaks 'private world' silence to share 'sudden' loss

Robert Rinder has broken his "private world" silence after the "sudden" loss of his dog.

The Good Morning Britain and Strictly star said he had been struck with "profound sadness" after the death of Rocco, his beloved dog. Robert often posted pictures of Rocco on his social media channels, with one posted in July showing the pair hiding under a damp towel during the July heatwave.

Yesterday, he posted pictures of Rocco cuddling up to him as they both slept. He said: "My Rocco died suddenly yesterday. He blessed me with a lifetime of loyalty & limitless joy.

"I don’t speak about my private world normally. But wanted to share my profound sadness with anybody who has ever loved a dog. It is the deepest gift of unconditional love imaginable," reports the Mirror.

His celeb friends took to the comments to share their commiserations, with Deborah Meaden writing: "Oh Robert....I am so sad for you. It is a profound pain and my words can't change that...only time can. It's the price we pay for the love and the joy and at the end we wonder if it is worth the pain...and then the memories flood in and we know it is."

Ruth Langsford commented: "Oh Rob….I am so, so sorry. Grief is the price we pay for that unconditional love. Sending you the tightest hug ever."

"Rob , It’s so so sad to read this . Polly our beloved Manchester terrier died 5 years ago and the missing of her never stops . Just sending a virtual hug to you to help heal in some small way your [heartbreak]," Arlene Phillips wrote.

While Holly Willoughby commented: "Oh I’m so sorry."

Richard Arnold wrote: "Oh Rob. I’m so sorry lovely man. Never a truer word."

"I am so sorry what a terrible shock and what a sadness for you. Sending you so much love my friend," Louise Michin remarked.
