Good Morning Britain's Ed Balls calls for ad break after awkward moment

Ed Balls forced Good Morning Britain to cut to a break after becoming flustered.

On Monday morning's episode of the ITV breakfast show, Noel Phillips had been live backstage following the afterparty from The Oscars awards ceremony. He tried to sneak into a VIP party when someone decided to close the curtain restricting his access.

Back in the studio, Susanna Reid said she felt for the presenter as she explained a previous similar situation she had experienced herself. Ed asked if she watched the awards show as she replied: "You know, I watched some of it but haven't watched all of it. Have you?"

He said: "No. Only because you told me..." He suddenly looked flustered as he waved his hands and added: "Let's not go there."

Susanna looked at him perplexed as she said: "What did I tell you?" But Ed continued to shake his head for no as he repeated: "Let's not go there, let's not go there."

His co-host was still seemingly confused as she said: "But I didn't say let's not go there." Quick to drop the subject Ed demanded a break ad as he said: "Go to the break!"

Susanna laughed as she still looked mystified as she quickly announced the break.
