Charlotte Hawkins was quick to share her delight as a new face joined the ranks at Good Morning Britain on Thursday and Friday, a week after the presenter was gutted to say goodbye to an ITV colleague.
Right at the end of GMB on Friday, July 15, Charlotte broke the news that the show's long-serving editor Rosaleen Poole was leaving, telling viewers: "As Rosaleen's picture appeared on screen, Charlotte continued: "She's been with us since the start of Good Morning Britain as a bulletin editor, senior producer, programme editor...she's leaving us on Monday."
Jumping in, co-host Ben Shephard: "We were just reminiscing this morning, Charlotte and I once did a show where we had a dog in a tea cup, it was so small and Rosaleen said: 'I think that was my show.'"
And, less than a week after Rosaleen's departure, Charlotte and Ben were welcoming a new face to the Good Morning Britain studio, in the form of Marverine Cole, who make her debut on screen as cameras rolled on Thursday's episode. As Marverine sat next to her and Ben behind the desk, Charlotte wrote: "Morning! Welcome to @TVMarv joining us in the @gmb studio for the first time today,." alongside an applause emoji.

Tipping Point star Ben was equally thrilled to have Marverine join the team, writing: "Lovely to have @TVMarv with us as a top journalist and broadcaster but especially because she’s a beer expert!!!! But can’t believe you didn’t bring any beer with you."
Marverine was quick to give Charlotte and Ben a shout out for their warm welcome, replying to Charlotte's tweet about her to write: "Cheers for looking after me, guys."
While she may be a new face for Good Morning Britain viewers, award-winning journalist Marverine has already got an enviable CV from her time in the industry to date, featuring on the likes of This Morning, Classic FM, Radio 4 and Steph's Packed Lunch.
She got a great reaction from ITV viewers after her GMB debut, making a fine first impression. One wrote: I see you @TVMarv! Doing a great job up on my favourite breakfast show! C'mon now," with another equally impressed fan tweeting: "It was so lovely to see
@TVMarv on my screen this morning.."
