Good Morning Britain's Simon Calder has branded a travel warning as "nonsense".
The expert appeared on today's edition of the ITV news programme. Friday's episode was fronted by Ed Balls and Ranvir Singh.
Simon joined the broadcasters to issue advice amid the ongoing train strikes. People's travel plans have been under threat as members of the RMT, TSSA and Unite unions all take industrial action.

The train companies have advised passengers against all but essential travel. However, Simon branded the warning as "nonsense" as he claimed thousands of trains are running, including services to Liverpool.
He said: "When the train companies say we advise all but essential travel. I would say that's absolute nonsense. There are thousands of trains running today. Yes, they are mostly on the main inter city lines. Mainly coming in and out of London.
"So if you want to go to Cardiff, Brighton, Southampton, Bristol, to Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow and Manchester. There are trains running."
