NEW DELHI: Former India pacer Praveen Kumar played down the Sreesanth-Gautam Gambhir on-field clash at the Legends League Cricket game on Wednesday in Surat, saying that the fans and social media unnecessarily blew the incident out of proportion.
The two World Cup-winning players were involved in a heated exchange during an Eliminator match between LLC teams Indian Capitals and Gujarat Giants and the on-field umpires had to intervene and separate the two players.
Praveen, who played 68 ODIs and six Tests for India pointed out that such situations are part and parcel of the game and urged everyone not to further escalate the situation and sensationalize the issue.
