Tuesday was the hearing date for the lawsuit filed against the PGA Tour by 10 members of the LIV Golf Series (the number of players was originally 11, but Carlos Ortiz dropped out).
LIV players have been suspended by the PGA Tour, and because of this, are unable to participate in the FedEx Cup Playoffs which start Thursday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee. Three of the 10 plaintiffs are seeking entry into the event: Talor Gooch, Matt Jones and Hudson Swafford.
During the hearing, LIV’s lawyer said several questionable things, including comparing the FedEx Cup to the Super Bowl.
Here are some reactions from Twitter:
This would directly contradict what the LIV folks have told us throughout: that the prize money they earn is on top of the contracts, not part of them. https://t.co/vxS1MfaZxo

This lawyer is speaking about and explaining the complicated relationship between the majors, OWGR and FedEx Cup like he just learned about all of them three weeks ago.

LIV attorney just referred to the "The Arnold Palmer Invitational in Ohio"

The LIV lawyer is arguing that winning the FedEx Cup is "more than about the money" then compares FedEx Cup winners to Nicklaus and Norman. Absolutely incredible stuff.

I would *way* rather watch this judge poke holes in stuff than watch any of the players suing to get on my TV.

Judge: "Anyone can miss a 3-foot putt and lose a tournament." Wondering if Gooch, Jones and Swafford have any shot at winning East Lake. She's about to start breaking down FEC points available in Memphis! I am howling!

Opening up, it Mickelson was referred to as Mike-el-son. Judge also referring to it as L-I-V instead of LIV. Riveting stuff

At this point I'm expecting the lawyer to take off his mask to reveal himself: pic.twitter.com/ia7h7uQEAa

LIV has just offered Judge Freeman $200M to just "please stop decimating our case."

LIV lawyer lets slip that all 48 spots for next year's LIV League are full.
Not sure if he's just wildin' out or spilling state secrets, but my man hasn't exactly been selective with his words this afternoon.

Judge: "These LIV contracts lock up these players in ways the PGA Tour never imagined. They are so restrictive." Wow.

If LIV lose today's case, how much does Pat Perez stand to make ?

What a weird day for golf. There’s gotta be some kind of pizza or cake analogy to explain it
