Goldwin has unveiled its Fall 2026 collection, which might just be one of the most convincing examples yet of technical outdoor clothing designed for life away from the trail.
Across 25 looks, the Japanese brand combines GORE-TEX waterproof shells, Polartec fleece jackets and lightweight insulation with relaxed blazers, collared shirts, wide trousers and loafers.
It sits somewhere between Arc’teryx-style minimalism and Japanese streetwear, with thoughtful fabrics, accessories and proportions adding interest without making the outfits look overworked.
Why should you care?
Goldwin's fall collection is a masterclass in turning technical materials into something much more pleasant to look at, with GORE-TEX, Polartec and performance nylons helping define the collection’s shape, texture and overall look.
Goldwin calls the campaign a study in “Stillness” and “Motion”, but the simpler explanation is that this is outdoor clothing made to function as an everyday wardrobe.
The collection layers bright insulated hoodies with a grey blazer, technical shirts are tucked into belted trousers, and a cropped GORE-TEX blouson is worn with pleated trousers and polished shoes.
Outdoor gear without the full hiking uniform
The collection’s strongest idea is technical layering, with Goldwin stacking shorter insulated pieces over longer shirts, pairing fleece with tailoring and using lightweight outer layers to alter the shape of otherwise straightforward outfits.
Part garment and part storage system, the Back Pack Vest might be the best example from the drop.
It creates the volume of a backpack without looking like conventional hiking equipment.
Worn over clean shirts and relaxed trousers, it feels like an unconventional waistcoat and not a gorpcore try-hard's wardrobe staple.
The Polartec High Loft Fleece Neck Warmer plays a similar role. Priced at £55, it is one of the collection’s more accessible pieces, but it has an outsized effect on the styling.
Wrapped high around the neck, it gives simple jackets and blazers a cocooned silhouette while adding texture to Goldwin’s largely muted palette.
That colour centres on navy, charcoal, taupe, stone and cream, punctuated by brighter cyan, rust orange and acidic lime.
Sharp accents are used sparingly, generally on one insulated layer or shell, so the brighter pieces provide a focal point without tipping the outfits into obvious colour blocking.
The lime Gridded Down Jacket is likely to be one of the collection’s most instantly recognisable pieces, while the cyan Tsubai Insulated Hoodie brings a more playful edge to an otherwise restrained blazer-and-trouser combination.
A niche alternative to the obvious outdoor names
Goldwin remains relatively niche in the UK, which is part of the appeal.
The brand offers the technical materials and clean design associated with better-known premium outdoor labels, such as Arc'teryx, but without the same level of recognition or logo-driven status.
It is not inexpensive, but the pricing is also less intimidating than many high-fashion interpretations of technical outerwear.
The Tsubai Insulated Hoodie costs £330, the matching vest is £270, and several of the collection’s trousers sit between £195 and £245.
The GORE-TEX 3L Jacket reaches £695, but shirts, fleece layers and accessories provide less costly ways into the look.
Most importantly, Goldwin’s Fall 2026 collection does not ask you to dress like a mountaineer on your morning commute.
It takes the best parts of outdoor clothing, including weather protection, comfortable cuts, useful pockets and adaptable layers, and turns them into something more refined, versatile and distinctive.
