Golden State Warriors could suffer huge loss amid potential rebuild after NBA playoff exit

Bob Myers, the man who put together the Golden State Warriors ' all-conquering dynasty, could be set to leave the franchise this summer, and has reportedly set a deadline on his final decision.

After their playoff defeat to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, the Warriors now find themselves at a crossroads with Draymond Green set to become a free agent, while needing to add younger players around superstar Steph Curry.

That might even include trading away Klay Thompson if it's a legitimate option, who, like Green, has a huge salary which is hurting their ability to make further moves to their roster.

But over the years, general manager Bob Myers has been able to do just that - make all the right moves to keep the key players around which has brought sustained periods of success.

He's been largely credited with putting together the 'Death Lineup' which saw the Warriors dominate the NBA, and has overseen their rebuild post-Kevin Durant. However, Myers could be set to leave the franchise with his contract expiring this summer and no extension yet agreed.

Speaking on ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski explained that Myers is set to take a few weeks before making a final decision over his future with the franchise. Myers' future has been the subject of intense speculation throughout the season.

Myers would be the most sought after free agent available this summer - seen as far and away the best in his role in the league.

Earlier this year, The Athletic reported that Myers' exit could be likely and would be 'unsettling' for the franchise and Curry himself.

Myers has spearheaded the dynasty, and made the decision to controversially fire former coach Mark Jackson before hiring Steve Kerr - who has gone on to win four NBA championships in the last eight seasons.
