Hollywood's "party of the year," the Golden Globes, is back for another year to honor the best in TV and movies. But there's a major change for the awards show, as the Golden Globes 2024 have a brand new TV home.
The Golden Globes are run by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), with 2024 marking the 81st year of the awards ceremony. Alongside the Oscars and the SAG Awards, the Golden Globes are one of the big three televised award shows that air in the US in the early months each year.

Golden Globes 2024 date
The Golden Globes are set to take place on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
What channel are the Golden Globes on?
The Golden Globes had previously aired on NBC, but the awards show has a new TV home starting with the 2024 ceremony, as the Golden Globes 2024 are airing on CBS.
In addition, the awards show is going to be available to stream on Paramount Plus as well as watch on the CBS app.
Golden Globes 2024 nominees
Nominations for the Golden Globes 2024 have been announced. The nominees include both TV shows and movies, with many awards broken up with comedy and drama categories.
Among the TV shows and movies that are going to vie for nominations this year are Barbie, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Last of Us, The Crown season 6, and The Diplomat, to name a few.

Golden Globes Cecil B. deMille Award
The Cecil B. deMille Award presented by the Golden Globes is their version of a lifetime achievement award recognizing individuals working in movies. The recipient for the 2024 ceremony has not been announced to date, but recent recipients have included Eddie Murphy, Jane Fonda, Tom Hanks, Jeff Bridges, Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Denzel Washington, George Clooney and Jodie Foster.
Golden Globes Carol Burnett Award
The Carol Burnett Award is the TV equivalent of the Cecil B. deMille Award for the Golden Globes, recognizing the careers of influential members of the TV industry. The 2024 recipient has not been announced at this time. Past recipients for the award are Ryan Murphy, Norman Lear, Ellen DeGeneres and Carol Burnett.

How to watch the Golden Globes
With the Golden Globes airing on CBS in 2024, anyone with a traditional pay-TV subscription or a TV antenna receiving local stations can watch the awards show on their TV. If you're more new school and want to use a live TV streaming service, Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV all carry CBS as part of their channel lineup and will air the show.
