PANCHKULA: After the name of Deepak Bhola, a Panchkula-based goldsmith came to light in cases of people getting gold loans from Bank of India on the basis of fake documents, three more cases involving the same jeweller have surfaced. Bhola helped three other persons get gold loans worth Rs 32.35 lakh on fake documents approved by him. Three separate FIRs have been registered.
All the three police complaints were filed by Ashutosh Malhotra, assistant general manager, Bank of India main branch in Sector 16. In his first complaint, he said that Vijender Malik, a resident of Mahadev Colony, Panchkula contacted the bank on March 7, 2020 to avail gold loan on 71.4 gram and 1,12.2 gram gold. The bank called their empaneled goldsmith, Deepak Bhola, proprietor of Shri Guru Nanak Jewellers, Sector 9 and a resident of Sohi Towers, Baltana, to check and value the gold.
