Gokulam Kerala turn to one-handed striker Alex Sanchez

KOCHI: He was born without a right hand. But that didn’t deter Alex Sanchez from pursuing his passion of playing top-flight football. Fourteen years after he became the first player to play in a professional football league with just one hand, the Spaniard is now headed to India as he signed a one-year contract with Kerala football club Gokulam Kerala on Monday.

The 34-year-old will also thus become the first player with such deformity to play in a professional football league in India.
