Gogglebox stars The Malones swap UK for Greece as TUI getaway 'finally' sorted

Tom Sr and Julie Malone were thrilled as they revealed they were on their way to Greece.

The reality stars have established themselves as fan favourites on Gogglebox with their hilarious observations on the week's best TV. The couple offer their verdicts on a range of programmes alongside their children, Sean and Vanessa.

The family are currently taking a well-deserved break after season 19 of the popular Channel 4 programme concluded last month. Tom Sr and Julie have announced they are recharging the batteries with a trip to Zante.

They shared a snap on Instagram as they were about to take off alongside the caption: "At last! Zante here we come!"

Tom and Julie hit out at holiday operator TUI last month as they waited "more than three weeks" to have their holiday rescheduled after it was cancelled due to covid. Tweets from their shared Twitter account said: "Just something TUI customers should be aware of if your holiday / flight is cancelled by TUI and they offer you an incentive (percentage wise if you rebook with them).

"If you then have to cancel your rebooked flight/ holiday due to COVID, they will then take the incentive amount off you so you are then paying more than you originally paid, also that can take well up to now it's over 3 weeks to sort your rescheduled holiday out (we are still waiting) Apparently they haven't had to deal with a reschedule holiday due to COVID before! Another said: "Does anyone know if there is a district manager for the Manchester TUI shops please and how to get in touch with them ? Have emailed generic TUI address no response, Trafford Centre branch could charge us rent the amount of days we have spent in there over the past 3 weeks !" [sic]

Their issues were later resolved as a TUI spokesperson told the ECHO : "We’re very sorry to hear The Malones are unhappy and we’ll be in direct contact with them as soon as possible."

Earlier today (Friday), the Malones tweeted: "@TUIUK many thanks to Dan, from the Trafford Store branch for finally sorting out our holiday. Much appreciated."
