Ellie Warner from Gogglebo x is said to have had her heart ‘ripped in two’ after her boyfriend was seriously injured in a hit-and-run car crash.
The 31-year-old has been at the bedside of partner Nat Eddleston since the collision two weeks ago that left him fighting for life with serious neck, back and internal injuries. Ellie hasn’t been seen on the popular Channel 4 show for two weeks and bosses have told her to take as much time as she needs away from filming. The Sun is reporting that friends have said she is unlikely to return soon and is spending every spare second supporting Nat and her family.
“Ellie has barely left Nat’s side since the accident. She has been holding his hand and willing him to get better,” a friend told The Sun. “Her heart is totally ripped in two by all of this and she is still in a state of shock about how things have ended up. The Sun quoted a source saying: "Channel 4 take duty of care really seriously. Obviously Ellie and Izzi are two of the most loved regulars on the show but it wouldn't be right for them to have to film a light-hearted show when Nat is in such a critical condition. Producers have made it clear there is no pressure to return to filming and they can take all the time they need."
Nat was injured on March 18 after he was hit by a car in Halton, Leeds, while walking home in the early hours. A family member confirmed he had suffered serious injuries and was initially placed on life support. At the scene, which was surrounded by police tape, the Seat Leon involved could be seen with a smashed windscreen and the roof dented.
In a short statement, West Yorkshire Police confirmed: "The pedestrian remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital and enquiries into the incident are ongoing".
Speaking shortly after the collision, a source told The Sun: "Ellie is understandably in pieces and everyone is just hoping and praying Nat comes through this. Nat is Ellie's absolute world. She has been totally overwhelmed with messages of love and support." The insider continued: "She has barely left the hospital since this happened and Nat is getting brilliant care and treatment. They are living hour by hour and just praying that things get better."
Nat recently moved in with Ellie, and briefly appeared alongside her on the show during the first months of the Covid lockdown. Hairdresser Ellie has appeared on Gogglebox with her sister Izzi since 2015 after Ellie was approached by a friend who worked on casting for the show.
