Gogglebox star Stephen Webb has issued an apology after pulling an unsuspecting woman into a swimming pool while on holiday claiming it was “all part of the fun”.
The 50-year-old TV star was said to be left furious after a friend pulled him into the water for a joke while fully clothed at exclusive club Brighton Beach House.
Those around him are said to have erupted into laugher before Webb then reportedly grabbed a woman sitting by the pool and pulled her into the water too.
A source told The Sun: “She was chatting to Daniel with her legs in the pool when Stephen was pushed in. She started laughing like everyone else, which seemed to anger Stephen.
They went on to add that for “some reason,” Webb was “furious” with the lady and began “shouting” at her before coming over and “pulling her into the pool.”
Insisting to the publication that he took it all in “very good spirits,” he then apologised to the woman, saying: “I am very sorry if she felt upset or hurt by my actions. That was never my intention.
“I’d been swimming and having dried and got fully dressed, a friend pushed me back into the pool.”
It was reported by the publication that the woman had been chatting to Webb’s husband Daniel Lustig, 47, before the incident took place.
Webb continued: “Everyone was laughing and joking so seeing his friend sat on the edge of the pool, pulled her round her waist into the water with me. We’d enjoyed a really good time together and I felt it was all part of the fun.”
Webb first appeared on Gogglebox in 2013 with former partner Chris Ashby-Steed, who’s husband Tony recently claimed he was “bullied off” the reality show by Webb.
