Gogglebox's Pete Sandiford's savage swipe at I'm A Celeb's Matt Hancock with brutal 'apology' jibe

Gogglebox favourite Pete Sandiford took a savage swipe at Matt Hancock on Friday night

Pete couldn't help laughing at former health secretary Matt Hancock as he watched the MP get a question wrong in the Deals on Wheels challenge. The politician left his campmates upset when he made them miss out on a chocolate prize last Friday.

The group were asked: "Who was born closest to the invention of the Walkman - Babatunde, Chris or Sue?", with the Walkman being invented in 1979. Matt was convinced he knew the answer and guessed Babatúndé Aléshé, but the right answer was Radio X host Chris who was born in 1974.

The MP threw his hands up and told camp: "That is my bad, that is entirely my fault," before adding: "I feel so bad."

But Pete said that he found it funny that Matt was apologising for the challenge blunder but not for the 'other s**t he's done'. Sister Sophie burst out laughing, with Pete saying: "Matt's now thinking, 'How am I going to get out of this?'"

Pete then suggested the disgraced former health secretary had done far worse things in his life that he didn't care about. Pete said: "I love how he feels so bad about losing f*****g chocolate, but the other s**t he's done in his life... he's not a***d!"

Mr Hancock was forced to resign as health secretary last June after he breached his own social distancing guidance and cheated on his wife with a colleague. Footage published by The Sun showed Matt kissing his now-girlfriend Gina Colangelo during the lockdown.
