Gogglebox's Pete Sandiford baffled as viewers taken aback by 'awkward' Phillip Schofield mention

Phillip Schofield Pete Sandiford Alison Hammond Holly Willoughby

Gogglebox viewers were baffled as Phillip Schofield was mentioned at the start of tonight's show.

The armchair critics once again welcomed fans into their homes to provide their observations on the week's best TV. The first segment on tonight's show covered This Morning's tribute to Mr Schofield, which aired on Monday's episode.

The 61-year-old stepped down from ITV's flagship daytime programme last weekend amid reports an alleged feud with Holly Willoughby reached fever pitch. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary hosted the first episode of This Morning after Mr Schofield's exit.
