Gogglebox stars Jenny Newby and Lee Riley jokingly issued an apology to fans as they shared some big news. The pair are a big hit with fans of the Channel 4 show and viewers have missed seeing them on-screen.
It's been months since the last series of the Channel 4 favourite came to an end with the much-loved armchair critics taking a break from dishing their thoughts and opinions on the latest TV shows and breaking news events. But after a special festive episode over the Christmas period, the likes of Jenny and Lee, the Siddiquis, the Malones, sisters Izzi and Ellie Warner and sibling duo Sophie and Pete Sandiford haven't been seen on-screen.
But that is all set to change on Friday night (February 24) as Gogglebox finally returns to screens. And fans were overjoyed to see an update from best pals Jenny and Lee, who have appeared on the show from Lee's caravan since 2014.

Sharing a video of themselves to their joint Instagram account, their first post since December, the TV favourites exclaimed: "Hi, we’re back!" Jenny then went on to say: "We’re still the same, still sat on the sodding lumpy cushions," before Lee joked, “We’re still as daft as ever."
Jenny quipped: "Yeah – you’re right there!" Lee then confirmed that they were back filming and that they'd be in the first episode as Jenny added she was "looking forward to it!" But as they shared the post, they issued an apology. "Sorry folks we are back see you all on Friday 9pm @c4gogglebox #gogglebox," they typed.
But as far as fans were concerned, they didn't need to apologise. @hannylady44 said: "I missed you guys can't wait for Friday." @enchantingalana wrote: "My favourite duo back in action." @hardingphilomena commented: "Awe welcome back, Could do with a few belly laffs." @through_my_scorpio_eyes added: "Oh I missed you both can’t wait to see you again Lee and Jenny."
The pair have since shared the same video on Twitter but this time writing: "So here we go again wow. Series 21 this Friday 9pm @C4Gogglebox See ya Friday." And again fans flocked to reply to share their delight at the news.
It comes after the Siddiquis also took to Instagram to confirm that they returned to filming on Friday (February 17). "The count down is on…..first day back filming today," they penned alongside a photo of dad Sid and his two sons Baasit and Umar sat around their TV. They then asked: "Are you ready to see our mugs on your screen again next week??"
And fans were quick to share their joy over the news. @paulacivers said: "Cannot wait, missed you guys you're like family." @lkeay5906 replied: "I cannot wait !!!! We’ve been watching past series to keep us going." @hulalulatallulahoop commented: "Yay!!! it'll be good to see you all again next week!" @shelleyj295 wrote: "Best programme in telly, best and funniest family on best programme on telly!! Welcome back guys."
There will, however, be a couple of people missing from the new series. Fans were left gutted last month after stars Mica Ven and Marcus Luther announced their decision to quit the show to pursue new opportunities. It has not yet been revealed whether a new family will join the cast to replace them.
