Gogglebox fans share bizarre theory about Giles and Mary after spotting object outside home

Everyone loves to hear what Giles Wood and Mary Killen have to say on Gogglebox. The camera often cuts to the married couple for one of their dry jokes or witty remarks, making them firm fan favourites of the Channel 4 show.

But the stars have revealed that they do receive a lot of negative comments on social media. While the Wiltshire pair try and ignore most of what is written, some of it does get picked up.

One of the most peculiar things written by fans was that the seemingly innocent couple is in fact, axe murderers.

Mary told the Guardian : "There were some pretty negative things on Twitter. Sort of Giles and Mary 'Jog on, bye'. The introductory film of our house had an axe going into a tree stump, so one peculiar person was obsessed with the idea that we were axe murderers.

"What happened originally was that Giles’s sister went on social media. She said for every ten negative comments, there’d be one positive. And she’d send us the positive ones. We didn’t look ourselves."

During the tell-all interview, it was also shared that Giles was actually due to appear on the show with one of his children. But when his daughter had second thoughts, Mary took her place.

The couple also have sweet nicknames for each other: "nutty" and "nutty".

Speaking to the Daily Star, Mary explained: "We call each other "nutty' because we both consider the other to be a bit mad.

"Certainly Giles has multiple personality disorder so he's all sorts of people and one of them is a bit of a genius. The truth is we're both neurotic.''
