Gogglebox viewers were left disgruntled after finding out that the show will not air this Friday in its usual slot.
The popular series will instead be shown at 9pm on Saturday, as Channel 4 shakes up its primetime schedule to make room for a new show this week. Friday Night Live will take Gogglebox’s place on the channel at 9pm on Friday, The Mirror reports .
The special Friday Night Live episode will see the return of the hit show that first aired on Channel 4 from 1985 to 1988, with Ben Elton reprising his role as host. Comedians including Harry Enfield, Jo Brand and Rosie Jones will make an appearance on the special to mark Channel 4’s 40th birthday.

Originally titled Saturday Live, Friday Night Live is known for making stars of many now-famous faces, including Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. But despite Gogglebox only being moved by one day to make room for the comedy special, fans of the show were not happy to hear the news that they wouldn’t be able to sit down to watch on Friday evening.
Announcing the news, Channel 4 said: “It's one for your diary - brand new Gogglebox isn't on its usual Friday night spot. Saturday at 9pm is your go-to for this week over on Channel 4.”
One fan quickly responded on Twitter: “We NEED our light-hearted Gogglebox by the end of the week on a Friday night! It’s what Friday nights were made for.”
“Oh Gogglebox needs to be on a Friday not Saturday, as Gogglebox is the gateway to the weekend!” another viewer argued.
A third viewer fumed: “Hang on. Gogglebox is moving to a Saturday night?? No. Just no. No no no no no no no. No. Absolutely no!! Fuming.”
“Gogglebox is the thing that makes Friday nights! Hope it’s only temporary!” another said. But viewers can rest assured - Channel 4 confirmed on Twitter that Gogglebox will return to its usual Friday slot after this week.
