Gogglebox fans get closer look inside Pete and Sophie's home which hides incredible 'illusion'

Fans of hit Channel 4 show Gogglebox are getting a closer look inside the home of sibling stars Pete and Sophie Sandiford - and their house is not what it seems on TV.

Pete and Sophie have gained millions of fans since they started appearing on the programme. Their hilarious banter and loveable relationship have won the hearts of the nation.

Millions of viewers tune in to Gogglebox just to catch a glimpse of the lives of families who star in the show. The Sandifords have no limits when it comes to their larger-than-life personalities, but keep a tight lid on their domestic life away from the small screen.

Since joining the cast in 2017, Pete and Sophie have offered glimpses into their home life but if you take a closer look at their social media posts, you'll find that looks - on the show - can sometimes be deceiving. During every episode, viewers get only a slice of the life the siblings live, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Sitting in the now-famous corner of their home in Blackpool, many may not know that the house they share together is actually larger than they let on. Over the years since starring on the show, it's been Sophie who has let on more about their home life.

In various posts, the 595,000 followers on her account have seen many shots of the living room. The siblings, opted to liven up the room that is primarily a mix of beige, white and grey with a brightly coloured mustard yellow armchair and matching footstool.

The seat has become the permanent residence of Sophie on the show, while Pete takes up the end of the puffy grey sofa tightly crammed into a single corner of the room. But it's all an illusion, as certain posts of the very same room with the very same walls show the sofa looks much larger.

The rustic looking brick-effect wall is the background for the huge grey sofa that seems to dwarf Pete in a photo posted by Sophie. Perhaps a trick of the camera, the walls also appear to be much taller suggesting the property has higher ceilings than seen on the show. As if that wasn't enough food for thought, Sophie has also posted a picture of the pair's TV.

Mounted on a plain white wall with a small fireplace below is the Sandiford's TV. The inception style post showed Sophie watching herself and her brother on the show - while it wasn't clear in the post, the chances of her sitting on the exact same chair are quite likely.

Potentially one of the more lavish rooms in the house is the kitchen. This part of the house is never shown during the show but Sophie has posted a series of videos and pictures of Pete fooling around in the kitchen.

It's clear to see the kitchen is very modern with a large grey fridge-freezer fitted with a water dispenser on the door. Other appliances and fittings are equally lavish with a double over and fitted lights illuminating the white cupboards and sleek counter tops.

There is even a breakfast bar slapped in the middle of the large space with matching stools dotted around it. For breakfast with a view, the breakfast bar also looks out onto the garden through the large French doors and windows.

The siblings' claim to fame has to be their vast collection of novelty mugs. While fans of the show may have been keeping track of how many they've seen on the show, Sophie revealed all with a picture of their dedicated mug cupboard.

Bursting at the hinges, the cupboard contains brightly coloured, whacky shaped animal mugs. Sophie wrote on one of her posts how the mug collection had gotten so out of hand the pair have sacrificed a cupboard or two just to house them.

Adding in the caption she wrote: "Another cupboard sacrificed for the mug collection... who needs food cupboards anyway."
