Gogglebox was back on television again this week and the families got to enjoy watching another four celebrities having a go at baking in the Great British Bake Off tent. The celebrity version of the show aims to raise money for Stand Up 2 Cancer.
The latest episode showed the Gogglebox families gobsmacked by one of the celebrity's bakes, which tried to recreate one of the judges in biscuit. With comedian Mawaan Rizwan behind the bake, it was always going to be interesting.
From the start of the show, Mawaan said his tactic was to flirt with Paul Hollywood, this came to a climax in the showstopper challenge when the stars were tasked with recreating their celebrity hero in biscuit. Mawaan chose to make a version of Paul in brandy snap.
But during the challenge, nothing seemed to go to plan. Mawaan's biscuit didn't bake thoroughly and then broke in half. Much to the Gogglebox regulars' amusement.
The reactions were kicked off by Abbie even before the biscuit was revealed. "Poor Paul Hollywood," she cried.
But when it was finally brought out the reactions were mixed. No more so than in the Ven household, where husband and wife Marcus and Mica, who is known as Meesh, were watching the show.
Marcus said: "Look at it, Meesh. It's absolutely rubbish." To which his wife Mica replied: "But you know what though? Funnily enough..."
"It looks like Paul," finished Marcus. In Blackpool, Sophie agreed. "You've done him justice. It's uncanny," she said.
Giles had a different take: "It's like modern art. If you get far enough away from it - like one mile - it looks quite good."
