Academy graduate Emily Ramsey has left Manchester United to pursue a ‘new goal’.
The 22-year-old has been at the club since the age of eight. She made her debut for the Reds in 2019 in the FA Cup home win over London Bees and since then she has made six first-team appearances in all competitions.
On social media, she posted: "This is the club I’ve been a fan of my whole life and a player for since I was eight years old, so today feels like a big day. I'm incredibly grateful to my teammates and the staff who have helped me to this point in my life and the fans who have shown me support no matter where I have been.
"However, it is time for me to move on and I’m excited to pursue a new goal. I’m sad to say goodbye but looking forward to the next step. Thankyou the Reds"
The goalkeeper had a spell at Birmingham City in the 2021-22 campaign, followed by a year at Everton last campaign where she featured in eight top-tier games keeping three clean sheets against Leicester, Tottenham and West Ham.
Recently she has been involved with Sarina Wiegman’s preparatory camp for this summer’s Women's World Cup, training alongside Mary Earps, Ellie Roebuck and Hannah Hampton. Ramsey remains on standby but will part ways with the Lionesses when they board the plane to Australia and New Zealand.
