V&A Dundee has launched a special two day menu to help celebrate this weekend’s Summer (Bash) Streets Festival. The super tasty treats will be served up in the museum’s stunning Tatha Bar and Kitchen.
The set menu is described as being ‘Inspired by quintessentially Scottish recipes, elevated to showcase modern Scottish cooking with a few quirky twists’.
It will only be available this Saturday and Sunday with two courses costing £20 and three £25.
Tatha operates a scratch kitchen, meaning everything is prepared fresh, daily.
As part of this it prides itself on supporting fantastic regional suppliers, bringing the best of the local area to its tables.
Suppliers include Dundee's own 71 Brewing, Simon Howie, George Campbell & Sons, Graham’s Dairy and Jannetta’s Ice Cream. It also proudly serve Mackays Marmalade.
Here are the details of this weekend's amazing menu-
Starters-
- Vegetarian haggis, sourdough toast, crowdie, dressed tomato salad
- Cullen skink, poached egg, crispy leeks
- Oatmeal fried herring, pickled cucumber salad, horseradish cream
Mains-
- Braised shortrib pie, pastry horns, rumbledethumps, roast beetroot
-Roast chicken, peas with leeks and bacon, tarragon butter sauce, clapshot Strathdon blue, endive and walnut shortcrust tart, pickled grapes, watercress salad
Desserts-
- Rice pudding, Tayside berry compote, shortbread
- Dundee marmalade bread and butter pudding, vanilla ice cream
- Coffee and tablet
